Dominic D’Agostino, PhD; Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology, University of South Florida
Dominic D’Agostino, PhD is a researcher in neuroscience, molecular pharmacology, and physiology who has conducted mechanistic and clinical research on the ketogenic diet and its health benefits. The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, moderate-protein, low-carbohydrate dietary approach associated with meat eaters, but is the ketogenic diet feasible for vegetarians and even vegans? In this talk Dr. D’Agostino argues that anyone can potentially benefit from the ketogenic lifestyle. He shares targeted recipes and supporting nutrition science for vegetarians and vegans to achieve and sustain nutritional ketosis. Dr. D’Agostino examines the most common challenges nonmeat eaters face when adhering to a ketogenic food plan and provides practical methods to overcome these hurdles to receive the health benefits of the ketogenic diet.
